Responding to Conservative Rhetoric

(When conservatives send you emails of hate and lies, use the following as a response to get them off your backs.)

I feel the need to thoughtfully respond to your political rhetoric.
Am I to understand that you really believe what you wrote? I'm sure you understand the meaning of the word "tyranny." Do you realize how it sounds when you use it against someone like President Obama, especially after 8 years of the Bush administration? It makes you sound completely off the wall.
I suppose you believe Obama was born in Kenya too. Or that he is a Muslim terrorist. Or that his medical reform plan includes "death panels" ready to kill grandma. You obviously believe he is going to put people in jail if they don't buy medical insurance, which everyone knows is just not in the bill. You must be addicted to Fox News.
Do you also believe that liberals are building concentration camps for conservatives too, and are waiting for the next census to lock them all up? Has Obama been collecting guns from law abiding citizens like the NRA claimed he would? Do you believe he raised your taxes, when all he did so far was lower them? Do you believe he is a Nazi? Or a Communist? (Conservatives can't seem to make up their mind with that one. Can he possibly be both?)
Do you believe that global warming is a liberal plot, and only American conservatives, in all the world, were able to figure that out? Do you believe that Iraq was tied in with al Qaeda for the 9/11 attacks? What about the economy? Did we get into this recession because of Obama, who was not president at the time, and not because of conservative deregulation? That makes no sense at all.
If you believe all these things, than you really are a conservative. The trouble is, they are all lies, and you are intelligent enough to know that. What is really tearing this nation apart is conservatism, which has a terrible track record when it comes to truth and equal rights.
Of course, if you are really a conservative, then nothing I write will convince you otherwise. Conservative brainwashing uses a very strong bleach. It's right up there with water-boarding.
You might ask yourself though, why does the conservative media lie all the time? Because rich people want you to vote against your own self interests. They use fear and mob anger to do that. They say the word "socialist" or "communist" to make their followers tremble and do what they say. The wealthy minority you think you are protecting are not in any danger. They are the ones who have long been ripping us off, taking our taxes while sending jobs overseas.
The truth is that FDR's New Deal is what created the middle class after WWII. Conservatives since Ronald Reagan keep trying to dismantle it. They don't believe in equality. Providing medical coverage for all Americans would not make this a socialist country. Americans will never become socialists, so relax a little. Your life has not changed for the worse since Obama became president. It probably has not changed at all except in your imagination.
Right now you may not need government aid, like someany of our fellow citizens do. That may change in the future. Liberals who are thinking of your well being and mine believe that caring for the American people is really a patriotic thing to do. On the other hand, throwing poor people into the gutter is a conservative thing to do. Do you really believe in that? To my mind, it is as un-American as shouting down discussions at a town hall meeting.
I know there's nothing I can say that will change your mind. Nothing you write will ever make me think that conservatism is not the enemy of all things American. Where you see tyranny, I see responsible freedom. Where I see betrayal, such as in unjust wars and not defending equal rights, you see patriotism. It will always be that way. It is probably best that we try nor to convince each other of anything anymore. Let's keep our opinions for the voting booth.
