Showing their True Colors
Last
night (12-17-09) the Rachel Maddow Show played a lengthy clip showing
a prayer meeting in which Republican political leaders Demint, Brownback
and Bachmann fervently prayed for the defeat of healthcare
reform.
Their piety so struck me that I would call everyone's
attention to it.
I want us all to remember who it was who not only worked
against healthcare reform, but prayed for its demise. Conservatives.
As your premiums go up, or coverage is denied, remember
who is really responsible for it. Conservatives.
Remember the disgusting lies about death panels and
abortions.
Remember how Republicans refused to play a positive
role throughout the deliberations.
Remember who organized ridiculous Town Hall tantrums
in order to disrupt our American system of democracy.
Remember Joe Liebermann for his conservative
sabotage of healthcare reform, and his support of the Iraq War, and the
thousands who died because of it, and the resurgence of the Taliban in
Afghanistan.
Remember the condemnations of the very programs that
just rescued us from complete financial collapse. It seems perfectly clear
that they wanted the ruin of this nation for the anarchy it would produce.
Remember who tried tear down the protective wall between
church and state that Jefferson and Madison so devised.
Remember who it was who fought against Social Security
and Medicare when they were first introduced, and repeatedly tried to
gut these programs into oblivion. Remember who fought against civil rights
for minorities and women, and who are fighting them today against gay
citizens. They have no concept of what equality means, or how central
it is to who we are as a people. What could be more un-American
then that?
Remember who gave us George W. Bush, Sarah Palin,
Michele resist the Census Bachmann, the Iraq War, and deregulation
that led to the current recession. Remember who lowered our tax base and
led us into the current deficit. Remember who took the surplus of the
Clinton years and put us into the cycle of unending debt. Remember pictures
of people with dangling tea bags on their hats, making a visual mockery
of us to the world. Remember who created scandal mongers like Rush
Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, and raised the weepy, infantile
Glenn Beck as their charlatan-in-chief. These are not men. They
are hate-filled caricatures. Compared to the thoughtful, honorable intellectuals
who founded this nation, they are like dark, political antichrists, spreading
their destructive message to all who would blindly believe them.
Remember Timothy McVeigh, the American terrorist
who killed so many innocent people in Oklahoma and the paranoid ideology
that inspired him. Remember the KKK, White Supremacists and
American Nazis, and the evil that stirs in their fanaticism. Remember
the lynchings, the defenders of slavery.
Who is responsible for all this insanity? Who would
make us think that liberalism is the enemy, when our nation was founded
upon it?
Conservatives!
America!
Open your eyes before it is too late! Nothing could be more important
than remembering who our real enemy is. They are counting on us to forget
and vote more of their kind into office! They are and will be blaming
liberals for everything bad that happens that they themselves initiated
and prayed for! We must remember, or we will lose our precious
way of life, and our dream of democracy to ignorant thugs — for is
just what they are.
We
have to see conservative propaganda for what it is. Almost everything
they say proves to be a lie that plays to bigotry, ignorance and factionalism!
We
have to defend the true fundamentals of this nation. Democracy is a blessing
for people of reason and compassion. It is a travesty when handed to irrational
fanatics who use guns to intimidate the process.
The danger is far greater than you think. Our only
weapon is the truth. We have to stand up like true patriots and use it.
