I Don't Hear you!
How
is it that all we hear lately are voices from radical right extremists?
Why aren't real Americans speaking out now that real, positive change
is possible?
America faces some dire problems right now. President
Obama is doing the best he can, a masterful job really, to confront these
problems head on before it is too late.
Where is his support? Where are the hopeful masses
who gathered on election day welcoming a new dawn for America? Yes, we
hear the statistics for general support, and that is encouraging, but
all we hear is extremist rhetoric from the radical right as they strategically
distort reality to their short-sighted, rabid views. Their goal is to
stop this president from healing the nation by distorting everything he
does, and stirring whatever discontent they can generate.
These extremists supported the policies that led to
all our environmental problems, the economic crash, and a host of other
damning situations. They are now fighting tooth and nail to prevent sound
remedies. In effect, they want our economy to fail. They want global warming
to destroy the planet. They are nothing less than evil on a rampage, the
worst enemies that America has ever faced.
Yet those who want America to win, and want to save
the planet, do not speak out!
We see symbolic "tea parties" cropping up
on election day, sponsored by radical right wing propagandists. Judging
by their placards and slogans, their motives support everything that America
is against. Where were these people during the many years that these problems
were being created? How is it that only now, when we have a real president
capable of making the hard decisions that we need, do they come out of
the woodwork trying to cripple everything he does? To me, this is right
wing politics at its worst, with professional media propagandists doing
all they can to rabble rouse malcontents, but have no answers that will
solve anything.
How is it that these right wing extremists are always
so constantly bent on destroying America as we know it? From the environment
to the economy; from denying civil rights to "others" just to
fuel the discontent of local prejudices, to desecrating, in the name of
the Constitution, the very government that the Constitution created; from
sabotaging international alliances, to condemning the health and welfare
of our own people-these radical extremists are hell bent on destroying
the unity of our nation, even to the point of revolution and secession.
And for what? For a rebellion against high taxes on the eve of their being
lowered? Here they are, protesting emergency government spending knowing
full well that this is the only way to save the economy at this time!
In short, right wing extremists continually show themselves
to be the enemies of our nation in the name of free speech. The have used
religion, prejudice, class warfare, and greed to promote their insanity,
while hiding their true agenda, which is ideological authoritarianism,
aimless power in the sake of power alone, making everyone into copies
of themselves under the false aegis of freedom. These are not lunatics
to ignore. They are lunatics that need to be confronted with truth.
Where is the other side? Why so quiet. How is it that
millions of voices are not loudly expressing outrage to this insanity?
Liberals, moderates and conservatives of good will,
please stand up to these media tyrants who glorify all that is wrong about
America. Now is not the time to be silent. We are standing on the threshold
of healing our nation of so many of its ills, and we must become vocal
advocates for that action. If we do not, the sick rhetoric of the extremists
will take their toll on people's minds, especially while the economy is
bad due to right wing policies which they desperately transfer to the
other side. It is time to fight before the bad guys win again, and then
it is too late.
We have an extraordinary president, surely the greatest
in our lifetimes. We need to support him. We need to shout
down those who seek to pervert and destroy everything he does.
